Thao with the Get Down Stay Down

Thanks to Mike D for introducing me to some badly needed new tunes.  Thao Nguyen with the Get Down Stay Down’s album “We Brave Bee Stings and All” has been in heavy rotation in my head for over a month now.  Little did I know that she recorded most of the album at Jackpot studios here in Portland.  With any luck I’ll be seeing her play at Holocene on July 29th.

    Sometimes, I can’t get enough Thao either. She went to William and Mary in Virginia at the same time as a friend of mine from grad school. He said, they used to go hear her perform at the local venues. Lucky bastard!
